A private guide and car for the day

A licensed guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle for your group of up to nine, for six to eight hours, on a route you can reshape. Book it if you want to choose how long Uchisar Castle gets, or if a shared minibus doesn't work for your family.

Private Tour with Your Own Guide and Car

About this experience

Laal Dmc sells this as a private day with a licensed local guide and an air-conditioned vehicle, priced per group rather than per person. The suggested route is a greatest-hits list: Göreme panorama, Uchisar Castle, two hours at the Göreme Open Air Museum, Paşabağ, Pigeon Valley, Avanos, Ortahisar and Özkonak underground city. Because nobody else is in the van, it bends. Guests write that they swapped stops, mixed red and green tour sights, and slowed down for children or grandparents. The rating is 4.9 from 882 reviews.

The money is simple once you see it. $189 covers the vehicle and guide for up to nine people, so two travellers pay about $95 each and a family of five under $40 each. Lunch and entrance fees are not included. The listing names the big ones: the Göreme Open Air Museum at €20 per person and Paşabağ with Zelve at €12. At Uchisar Castle the itinerary allows 30 minutes with the ticket not included; the kiosk is run by the Uçhisar municipality and charges a few hundred lira (reported at 320 to 400 TL in 2025-26, roughly €7 to €9). Your guide can give the castle longer if you tell them it's your priority.

Compared with walking to Uchisar on your own, the van earns its keep on the rest of the day: Avanos, Paşabağ, Özkonak and Ortahisar are spread across the north of the region, and a guide explains what you're looking at. It is also the one tour here that the listing calls wheelchair accessible, with an accessible vehicle; the castle climb itself is not. The caveats from reviews: one guest's Avanos stop was dropped for lack of time, and others felt the pottery and carpet showrooms took too long. Say up front what you want to skip.

  • $189 for the whole group of up to nine, about $95 each for two
  • Route you can change: castle time, stops, pace
  • Licensed local guide plus a separate driver
  • Wheelchair-accessible vehicle on request (the castle climb is not accessible)
  • Parking fees included

What guests say

★★★★★

The tour went very well, it was fast paced, all sites are nearby, no long driving (mostly were no more than 30 min driving between sites). Our guide Mali is great, very professional, paced our route well; and driver Halil is great and on time.

We loved this flexible private tour especially because we had two elderly persons with wheelchairs. We were able to customized our tour and our professional tour guide Cagatay U. was very thoughtful and made sure we went on routes that was easy and accessible with wheelchairs.

The guide was very knowledgeable, once he heard from us about what we’re our interests he took us to places that were a bit off the usual tourist trail including a cafe where the locals eat. When we went to the iconic sites we were able to jump the queue and received a one on one explanation.

Best part, traveling with kids, we made our own itinerary and sequence of sites to visit. Highly recommended.

Tips before you book

  • Budget for tickets on top of the $189: for two adults visiting Göreme and Zelve-Paşabağ that's €64, plus the castle kiosk if you climb.
  • Tell the guide at pickup which stops matter most. One guest lost the advertised Avanos stop because the day ran out.
  • Skip the showrooms if you don't want them. A 3-star reviewer felt a third of the day went on pottery and carpet sales pitches.
  • The booking page splits options by passport (U.S. or non-U.S.). Pick the one that matches the lead traveller's passport.
  • Lunch is your choice. A guest skipped the tour restaurant and ate well and cheaply at a roadside service station café.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost per person?

$189 per group of up to nine, so about $95 each for two, $63 each for three and under $40 each for five. Add entrance fees: the listing gives €20 for the Göreme Open Air Museum and €12 for Paşabağ and Zelve, per person.

Is the Uchisar Castle ticket included?

No. The itinerary plans 30 minutes at the castle with the ticket not included. Foreign visitors pay a few hundred lira at the municipal kiosk, and the Museum Pass is not valid there. Because the tour is private, you can ask for more time on the summit.

Can we change the itinerary?

Yes, that's the point of it. Guests report swapping stops, adding green tour sights such as an underground city, and shortening the day for children. Agree the plan with your guide at pickup.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

The listing says the tour and its transport are wheelchair accessible, and a reviewer travelled with two wheelchair users. Uchisar Castle's steep steps and tunnels are not; a wheelchair user can see the rock from the viewpoints around it.
