The red tour with time to climb

A small-group red tour that opens with 55 minutes at Uchisar Castle, then Paşabağ, Zelve, Devrent, Avanos and Love Valley, with lunch and the museum fees in one flat price. Pick it if you want the castle summit and the north valleys in the same day.

Red Tour with Lunch and Entrance Fees

About this experience

This red tour starts from the Ürgüp side and collects guests around Göreme. The route is the north circuit: Uchisar Castle, Paşabağ, Zelve, Devrent, Avanos with a pottery workshop, and Love Valley. Lunch is included, the listing promises "all entrance fees" (the only option sold has them in its name), and the group tops out at 15. It's rated 4.9 from 258 reviews, and the guide Sefer gets named in review after review.

The reason it's on this site: 55 minutes at Uchisar Castle, the longest stop of any group tour we list. That's enough to climb to the summit and come down without a sprint, and reviewers did. One wrote of "climbing all the way to the top"; another went into a fairy chimney house and "a real life family home" on the slopes. The itinerary flags the castle stop as "free admission", which on Viator means the operator adds no charge for it. It does not tell you who pays the kiosk, reported at 320 to 400 TL in 2025-26, roughly €7 to €9. Ask the operator in a message after booking, and carry a few hundred lira in case.

What the tour adds over doing Uchisar alone is the rest of the circuit: Zelve, Paşabağ, Avanos and Devrent lie 10 to 15 km north, too far to walk and awkward by bus. The $59 is a flat per-person price with no tiers, so couples pay the same as everyone else. The complaints are mild: the buffet lunch divides opinion, and if your hotel is outside Göreme you may be first on the pickup round and last off it, which a 4-star guest said added almost an hour at each end.

  • 55 minutes at Uchisar Castle, time for the summit
  • Zelve and Paşabağ fees and a pottery workshop included
  • Lunch included (drinks extra)
  • Flat $59 per person, no group-size tiers
  • Groups of 15 at most

What guests say

★★★★★

The entire itinerary was excellently timed, but the absolute highlight for me was Uçhisar Castle. Getting to go right inside a fairy chimney house and climbing all the way to the top offered some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen.

The Uchisar castle area was stunning with opportunity to go inside many fairy chimneys and also a real life family home. We visited a few valleys, particularly Zelve Valley the heritage site is just out of this world.

There is plenty of time to walk around and explore once you learn a bit of what you are looking at so you have the context to make the most of it. [...] Everything is also fairly close together so this isn’t a tour where you actually spend most of the time in a van.

He made sure everyone was safe and would help in spots where you may need assistance with footing. I would recommend good runners and not sandals as there is fine sand on rocks and easy to slip.

Tips before you book

  • Ask the operator whether the Uchisar Castle kiosk is covered. The listing flags the stop "free admission", which doesn't answer the question.
  • Wear trainers, not sandals: a guest warned of "fine sand on rocks" that makes paths slippery.
  • Staying outside Göreme? Expect up to an hour of extra pickup and drop-off driving at each end.
  • The pottery workshop is an hour. Prices are high, as one guest noted; you can just watch the demonstration.
  • Bring sun protection. Uchisar's summit and Zelve have little shade.
